AfriForum removes 1,5 tonnes of waste during clean-up in Keimoes park

AfriForum’s Keimoes branch last week carried out a clean-up project at the park in Hoof Street as part of its ongoing efforts to keep the town clean, safe and well maintained. The park is situated opposite the Waterwheel Monument, where the branch recently undertook refurbishment work.

During the project, the branch collected approximately 1,5 tonnes of waste, building rubble, grass and other garbage, which was transported to the local landfill site.

Over time, the park became heavily polluted, harming the town’s appearance and creating a potential health and safety risk for residents and visitors. The clean-up teams worked hard to restore the area to a clean and usable state.

AfriForum’s Keimoes branch is calling on residents and businesses to work together to treat public spaces with pride and respect by refraining from illegal dumping. Community cooperation remains essential to ensuring a cleaner and more attractive town for everyone.

“Our public spaces belong to the community, and it is the responsibility of every resident to help keep them clean and safe,” says Werner Strauss, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the Kalahari.
