Kimberley neighbourhood boasts with freshly painted street names
AfriForum’s Kimberley branch recently repainted several street names on pavements in the Carters Glen neighbourhood. The six street names that were repainted had faded to such an extent that they were no longer visible to motorists. Waterberg Avenue and Krakadouw Avenue are among the street names that were repainted.
“The street names had become almost invisible over time, making it difficult for residents, visitors and even emergency services personnel to find their way. This project is a simple but practical way to transform the neighbourhood into a neat, safe and more accessible area,” says Lize-Mari Smit, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the Karoo.
AfriForum encourages residents to get involved in local community projects and to work together to make neighbourhoods functional again. Visit www.wordlid.co.za for more information.
