AfriForum’s Vryburg branch cuts town’s grass hectare by hectare
The AfriForum branch in Vryburg undertook various grass cutting projects in the town during February and the first week of March to keep the town clean and tidy for all residents. The branch cut more than 1,5 hectares of grass, including the grass of five empty plots and the concentration camp cemetery. Along with the cutting of plots, shrubs and low hanging branches were also removed that serve as possible hiding places for criminals.
The branch also cut the grass at the entrance to the town on the Tosca Road to improve visibility for motorists and create a safer environment.
Furthermore, the branch is working hard to make the necessary improvements to a historic area (ossewaspoor) around the town. This includes the maintenance and conservation of this area.
“The AfriForum branch in Vryburg is working hard to tackle various aspects through their projects. By cleaning up empty plots, it not only makes the residential area beautiful and neat, but it also serves as a safety project where possible hiding places for criminals are destroyed. AfriForum’s Vryburg branch is also working in this sustainable way to improve the town for everyone and create a safer environment for residents and visitors,” says Jp Nel, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for Stellaland.
AfriForum’s Vryburg branch has several major projects in the pipeline. One of these projects involves the renovation of stop streets, which is an important project for the town. During this project, new stop signs will be erected and the road markings of stop streets will be repainted.
