AfriForum expresses its condolences on passing of Nkosazana Nomakhosazana Stokwe

AfriForum has learned with deep sorrow of the passing of Nkosazana (princess) Nomakhosazana Stokwe, sister of Nkosi (senior traditional leader) Zweloxolo Stokwe and deputy secretary of the Stokwe Ndlela royal family of the AmaQwathi traditional community of Cala in the Eastern Cape. Nkosazana Nomakhosazana passed away yesterday morning (9 August) after a long illness.

According to Barend Uys, Head of Intercultural Relations and Cooperation at AfriForum, Nkosazana Noma, as she was known, will be remembered for her dedicated work to improve the lives of everyone in her community.

“Nkosazana Noma served her Nkosi, the royal family and community with unwavering dedication. She opened the doors for AfriForum to make a difference in the Mtingwevu community, outside Cala, in cooperation with Nkosi Zweloxolo and the Adopt-A-Village Rural Food Security Initiative. For that we will always be grateful to her. Whatever she did, she did heartily as for the Lord and not for men, as it is written in Colossians 3:23. Through this, she was an exemplary role model for us as her brothers and sisters in Christ,” says Uys.

“The best way in which we can honour Nkosazana Noma’s legacy is to ensure that the good work she has done lives on. We will make every effort to achieve this goal. AfriForum extends its heartfelt sympathy to the Stokwe Ndlela royal family and the AmaQwathi traditional community. We pray for comfort for Nkosi Zweloxolo, the royal family, the AmaQwathi cultural community and all those touched by Nkosazana Noma’s life,” Uys concludes.
