AfriForum Dienste removes 64 tons of refuse and cuts grass at parks during March
AfriForum Dienste (service delivery) in Bloemfontein removed 64.16 tons of refuse and cut 64 874.50 m² of grass at parks, open fields, and green strips during March.
These teams are being forced to intervene due to the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality’s failure to meet its obligations regarding service delivery.
“The reality is that the metro is simply no longer doing its job. Public spaces are being neglected, which creates direct risks to safety and health. We cannot just sit idly by and watch things deteriorate; we should rather roll up our sleeves and jump in ourselves to make a difference,” says Christo Groenewald, AfriForum’s district coordinator in Bloemfontein.
When an environment is tidy, it helps prevent illegal dumping, reduces fire hazards, and reduces opportunities to commit crimes.
AfriForum also expresses its sincere gratitude to every member who has already joined and actively contributes to making their home and neighbourhood cleaner, neater and safer – which makes projects and services like this possible.
AfriForum calls on residents not to remain passive but to actively become part of the solution. Visit www.afriforumdienste.co.za for more information.
