No lawn left uncut by Teks neighbourhood team
AfriForum’s Trichardt-Evander-Kinross-Secunda branch (aka the Teks branch) neighbourhood team never lets grass grow under its feet and this year is no exception. This neighbourhood team continued to mow various lawns in Secunda in January in an effort to provide reliable services to the community.
The team mowed a total of 2,46 hectares of grass during the month. It first focused its attention on the area around the Davieshof Centre, where the grounds were mowed and cleaned. AfriForum has been looking after the area for some time after it had not been maintained for a long time.
The Teks neighbourhood team also started a clean-up project around parts of Nelson Mandela Drive. The grass has grown to some length and is putting the safety of motorists, pedestrians and residents whose plots border it at risk. The project will continue in February.
The AfriForum neighbourhood team focuses on addressing local service delivery challenges in a timely and effective manner. As a result, the team cut a total of 35 hectares of grass and removed 108 loads of grass and rubbish from green spaces in 2025.
“This AfriForum neighbourhood team has the community’s best interests at heart and is focused on the needs of residents. As a dedicated community organisation, we call on community members to join hands with us so that we can do even more,” says Jan du Plessis, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Teks branch.
