Midwit neighborhood team cuts grass during January

The AfriForum neighbourhood team operating in Middelburg and Witbank, better known as the Midwit neighbourhood team, ensured that the grass in these towns was neatly cut during January. The neighbourhood team cut 7 ha of grass.

In Middelburg, the team got to work early to clean up and cut grass in Kosmospark, Pongolapark, Verdoorn and Limpopo Streets.

“This team has really put their words into action and is actively helping to stop decay in Middelburg. We know that the municipality does not pay enough attention to cleanliness in our town, but we cannot just shake our heads. Our neighbourhood team steps in where the municipality fails,” says Mark Salzwedel, chairperson of the AfriForum branch in Middelburg.

The neighbourhood team cleaned up and cut grass in Witbank in O.R. Tambo, Aquarius, Duiker, Klipspringer, Bonsai and Hartbees Streets.

“In Witbank, you can really see the difference where the AfriForum neighbourhood team has worked. We would like to work to get a second team together in the coming months,” says Sarel van Heerden, chairperson of AfriForum’s Witbank branch.
