Knysna branch spruce up Buffels Bay ahead of influx of tourists over Easter weekend

AfriForum’s Knysna neighbourhood team has successfully completed their project aimed at fixing up Buffels Bay before the start of the Easter weekend. The team repainted several road signs, thereby ensuring the safety of tourists who are expected to descend on Buffels Bay this weekend.

During the project, the AfriForum neighbourhood team used more than 100 litres of road paint to repaint road markings and speed bumps in the coastal town. The project spanned a period of more than two weeks, during which 36 speed bumps and stop signs were repainted.

According to Marthinus Erasmus, AfriForum’s District Coordinator for the Southern Cape, the streets of Buffels Bay are now significantly safer for holidaymakers. “The newly painted road markings and speed bumps will ensure that holidaymakers can navigate the area easily and safely,” says Erasmus.

The Knysna neighbourhood team has already undertaken several successful projects. In November last year, the team renovated, repainted and restored the public bathrooms in Galjoen Street in Buffels Bay for public use.

“We will continue to beautify the environment of Knysna by undertaking projects like this,” concludes Erasmus.

Residents can visit AfriForum Dienste to sponsor the repair of a pothole or the painting of a road marking or join the Knysna branch as a member to help them do more. Send an email to marthinus.erasmus@afriforum.co.za or call Erasmus on 081 216 9602 for more information.
