AfriForum has already received various complaints regarding activities at licensing offices. Some of the complaints include that third parties presumably obtain all available time slots for licence renewals and members of the public must then pay the third parties to renew their licences. There were also incidents where people’s new driver’s licences disappeared from the envelopes before it could be handed to them. It is possibly also a transgression of the Protection of Personal Information Act.

AfriForum is in the process of determining the extent of the problem so that the necessary action can be taken to address it.
