AfriForum’s Kempton Park team restores graves at Zuurfontein Cemetery

Members of AfriForum’s Kempton Park branch identified sections of the Zuurfontein Cemetery to refurbish as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the condition of the cemetery. At the request of community members, the team restored two graves and cleaned the surrounding area. Volunteers gave their time and used their skills to care for the site and support the loved ones of the deceased.

“AfriForum is grateful to every person who is willing to give up their time, use their skills and their energy to make a difference at the Zuurfontein Cemetery. It is wonderful to see our community members working together and see how each person contributes in their own way,” says André Badenhorst, Chairperson of AfriForum’s Kempton Park branch.

The branch not only carries out maintenance and clean-up work at the cemetery but is also regularly present to help keep an eye on the safety of visitors. In this way, visible and meaningful change is brought about in the community.

AfriForum’s Kempton Park branch will continue to support the Zuurfontein Cemetery and, where possible, work with residents and volunteers to improve the site.
