On 20 January at 05:30 the neighbourhood watch stood at the ready to promote safety and conduct traffic during the annual Springs Striders road race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is a privilege for this branch to take part in this annual race, to make sports and leisure opportunities for the community safer in this way,\u201d says Jurie Ferreira, AfriForum\u2019s district coordinator for the East Rand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ferreira emphasised that such initiatives and community involvement can contribute to building community pride.
