The civil rights organisation AfriForum made representations to the National Commissioner of Correctional Services, Makghoti Thobakgale, to explain why former president Jacob Zuma must serve the remainder of his sentence. This follows after the Supreme Court of Appeal upheld AfriForum\u2019s High Court ruling that Jacob Zuma\u2019s medical parole was illegally granted. In addition to this, a costs order was filed against Zuma. However, the Supreme Court of Appeal left it to Thobakgale to decide whether Zuma\u2019s time on medical parole could be deducted from his sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBy making these representations to Thobakgale, AfriForum makes it clear that the organisation will not tolerate preferential treatment of high-ranking politicians. Zuma\u2019s medical parole was illegal from the outset and therefore Zuma must go back to prison.
