A big source of concern for the residents of Aliwal North and Burgersdorp is that there will not be sufficient electricity supply for the coming festive season.<\/p>\n
However on Tuesday 27\u00a0November\u00a02018 Khayelihle Mpungose, Administrator for the Walter Sisulu Local Municipality, confirmed during a meeting with AfriForum that these towns\u2019 electricity will remain on during the festive season in December\u00a02018 and January\u00a02019. Various service delivery issues were also discussed in the meeting.<\/p>\n
During this meeting AfriForum also directed the attention to municipal debts of council members and officials, on which the municipal management admitted guilt to AfriForum and gave an undertaking by the debtors to pay back the overdue money in the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n
A follow-up meeting with Feseka Ntlemesa, the newly appointed Municipal Manager, is preliminarily planned for 6\u00a0February\u00a02019.<\/p>\n
