Equipped with rubber gloves and waterproof boots, AfriForum members removed eight garbage bags full of trash from the wetland. <!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAfriForum will also test water in the wetland this month to ensure that it adheres to legal requirements,\u201d says Lambert de Klerk, AfriForum\u2019s Regional Coordinator for Gauteng North.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Four members of the AfriForum internship programme helped clean up the wetland.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cCommunity members must take responsibility for the preservation of wetlands, which play an important role in the control of storm water, as well as serving as natural reservoirs.
