AfriForum\u2019s first neighbourhood team in the Northern Cape officially began improving the environment around Deben (Dibeng) this week. On Monday, the team collected and removed around three tonnes of litter that had been scattered along the side of the road. The team started on the main street and collected litter at the three main entrances to the town, namely the entrances from Kathu, Winton and Hotazel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The neighbourhood team was established to provide practical solutions in cases where municipal services fall short. By responding quickly to problems such as illegal dumping, neglect and other community challenges, AfriForum wants to work with residents to improve towns in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
