Representatives of the French Ministry of Armed Forces held a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument on 16 April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AfriForum\u2019s cleaning team cut the grass around the Monument and access road a few days before the visit to the historic site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The French Military Attach\u00e9 paid tribute to General George de Villebois-Mareuil, the French officer who fought alongside the Boers during the Anglo-Boer War and later died at Boshof in the Free State.
