AfriForum\u2019s Pearly Beach neighbourhood watch hosted a successful shooting day at the local shooting range this past weekend. Led by Riaan Booysen, AfriForum\u2019s Safety Chairperson of the Overstrand neighbourhood watches, a total of 12 marksman participated in the day\u2019s activities. Booysen ensured that all safety protocols were strictly adhered to and that participants were able to hone their skills in a structured and safe environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe day was characterised by good cooperation, discipline and enthusiasm among the participants. A highlight of the day was the excellent performance of the three ladies who participated. They displayed their skills with confidence and clearly showed that they should not be underestimated,\u201d says Booysen.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Days such as these are important for the development of technical skills as well as for the promotion of responsible firearm use and safety within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur focus remains on safety, training and building a responsible and well-prepared community. These days bring people together and help develop skills in a safe and structured way,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Overstrand branch is already planning the next events, which will be held at the Gansbaai pistol range in April and in Hermanus in May. Dates will be announced closer to the time. Interested parties are encouraged to get involved at www.wordlid.co.za<\/a> and be part of future training opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
