AfriForum safety centre in Bloem responds to 107 emergencies in August
AfriForum’s Community Safety Centre in Bloemfontein recorded a total of 107 emergencies in August, confirming the Centre’s efficiency, professionalism and commitment to community safety. The Centre is active 24/7 and is a critical pillar of local security.
During August, the Centre, in collaboration with law enforcement and security partners, made six arrests; responded to 13 medical emergencies where emergency services played a key support role; and AfriForum response vehicles were called to scenes 107 times.
These figures reflect the growing need for reliable community-based safety structures, as well as the effectiveness of AfriForum’s integrated model that combines advanced technology, rapid response and community collaboration.
“The increase in emergencies clearly shows that the need for safety structures is increasing. Every successful arrest and every life saved are the result of a team effort between our safety centre, neighbourhood watches and partners. We will continue to build on making Bloemfontein and surrounding areas safer,” says Jacques Broodryk, AfriForum’s Chief Spokesperson for Community Safety.
The Centre works closely with registered private security partners such as Forum Sekuriteit, AfriForum’s local neighbourhood watches, emergency services and law enforcement agencies to ensure rapid and coordinated responses to incidents.
AfriForum calls on Bloemfontein residents and surrounding areas to get involved in local security structures and join the growing movement of active citizens who are making a difference.
AfriForum is already in the process of establishing community safety centres in other parts of the country.
